If youโve ever considered riding a 300km Audax and thought โthat sounds too muchโ then this is one Iโd absolutely recommend.
Beautiful Scottish Borders roads, tarmac ๐๐ป, big open landscapes, quiet miles and a route that just seemed to flow. For 300km, it never felt overly brutal. Albeit the strong head wind added some spice on our way to Johnstonebridge.
Thatโs the beauty of Audax. You donโt need to race it. Ride your own pace, eat plenty, enjoy the scenery and just keep turning the pedals. You also meet some amazing interesting people on the route as you cycle. Often bumping into them again on subsequent Audax rides ๐ซถ๐ป
300km might sound enormous.
Broken down into a day of riding, food stops, controls, conversations and scenery like this, it suddenly feels very achievable ๐๐ป
If youโre thinking about stepping up your distance, put the Alemoor 300 on the list.
